In our new interview, Thomas Pugh (Lund University) and Jonathan Doelman (PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency) discuss how modelling supports ForestPaths' work on forest-based climate change mitigation.

The conversation touches on a few of the modelling tools at the core of ForestPaths' work: LPJ-GUESS, a dynamic global vegetation model that explores how climate and forest management interact across European forests, and IMAGE and PLUM, which capture the links between land use, food systems and climate policy at a global scale. Together, these tools feed into ForestPaths' broader modelling framework, helping to quantify how different forest management and policy choices could affect climate mitigation, biodiversity and ecosystem services across Europe.
