FORWARDS, an EU-funded project, recently announced two new grant calls focused on enhancing forest monitoring and disturbance characterisation. 

FORWARDS will prototype a pan-European monitoring and evaluation tool – the ForestWard Observatory. This tool will support decision-making on various scales: it will provide a strategic outlook on disturbances, future risks, vulnerabilities, and threats at both the European and national levels, while also offering operational information for local Climate-Smart Forestry (CSF) and restoration management practices at the regional and local scales. To help set up the ForestWard Observatory, FORWARDS launched a series of grant calls.
