ForestPaths released its 2025 highlights video, offering an overview of the project’s main achievements over the past year.

2025 was a busy and productive year for the project, marked by several important developments across research, tools, policy and communication.

Important milestones include:

• The launch of version 0.5 of aiphoria 
• The release of the European Tree Genus Map as an open, early-access dataset
• The third edition of ForestPaths features
• The launch of the ForestChats podcast
• The third ForestPaths policy lab in Berlin
• The second episode of the Forest Talks webinar series, and many other activities

We are also happy to share that a key project output - the updated European Forest Disturbance Atlas (EFDA) - has become a valuable research resource for many. The EFDA is used in multiple research projects and has been downloaded more than 14,000 times from Zenodo. 

In addition, ForestPaths researchers published 11 studies in 2025 and participated in several high-profile international events, including the Living Planet Symposium and Helsinki Forest Talks.
