Between 11 and 12 February 2025, the city of Brussels will bring together a number of notable actors and stakeholders in the domain of forest research, policy and management for the 6th edition of the Forest Innovation Workshop and the Mid-Term Conference of the OptForEU research project. This joint undertaking has been titled: “Inform-Prioritise-Collaborate: Building a Sustainable Forest Future through Regional Cooperation and Innovation”. It will take place at the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union in the Belgian capital.
Innovation and how it pertains to ensuring sustainability in the European forest sector will be a focal point for the numerous presentations and panel discussions that are to be held at the meeting. As in past editions of the Workshop, the organisers are looking to create a space for comprehensive engagement between experts, practitioners and decision-makers in the context of this topic. Particular focus will be placed on regional actors and the role they can play in driving progress forward in terms of conservation and growth.
The event is made possible by the collaboration of the following research projects and organisations:
-
European Regions for Innovation in Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ERIAFF)
-
The European Forest Institute (EFI) and its Bioregions Facility
