All ForestPaths Features now available on the Horizon Results Platform

6 January 2025

The releases submitted as part of the ForestPaths Features series have all been uploaded to the Horizon Results Platform (HRP). Devised as a focal point of ForestPaths’ outreach activities, the series aims to showcase the latest research and findings associated with the project in an accessible and visually appealing manner. The last two years have seen the arrival of the first three such features, each dedicated to distinct aspects of forest management and the policies that shape it.

More specifically, the series began with a policy brief on the relation between existing climate targets in Europe and the potential of the continent’s forests to mitigate the effects of the ongoing environmental crisis in service of those very goals. The second edition was an overview of the application of modelling in charting management and governance approaches in the forestry sector, a topic that the ForestPaths project has placed a critical emphasis on. Most recently, a third feature and new policy brief detailed the state of play with regard to the effects exacted on forests and wood use by current European green policies.

These outputs’ publication on the HRP represents a crucial step towards achieving wider stakeholder and public awareness of ForestPaths’ aims and results in general. Created and overseen by the European Commission as part of its Funding and Tenders Portal, this virtual space serves as a public repository of research projects receiving funding from the European Union. It is also a one-stop hub allowing users to navigate the releases associated with individual initiatives of this kind and get in touch with the experts authoring them. Ultimately, the Platform elevates the visibility of the projects it incorporates, connecting them with new interested parties and therefore boosting their overall impact.

All of the aforementioned features can be found on the HRP here. Going forward, more outputs will become available on the site as ForestPaths continues its research activities.
