The European Forest Disturbance Atlas can now be found on the EU’s Horizon Results Platform

14 January 2025

The next generation of forest disturbance maps, updated as part of the ForestPaths project, can now be accessed via the Horizon Results Platform. The online repository, instituted as part of the Commission’s Funding and Tenders Portal, has positioned itself as a focal point when it comes to sharing EU-funded research and its innovations. As such, it will help enhance the public visibility of this crucial output and ForestPaths in general by exposing them to new and wider audiences.

The European Forest Disturbance Atlas itself constitutes the most recent and comprehensive update of maps of this kind in Europe. A testament to this is its increased timeframe, covering disturbances back to the 1980s. Moreover, its user-friendly interface allows for ease of navigation and customisation as disturbance agents, severity and years can be observed at the  across the continent.

More information on the Atlas can be found here. To access it on the Horizon Results Platform, you can use this link.
