The Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED) of the European Forest Institute recently released the first summer edition of its newsletter for 2025. Among the multitude of highlights dedicated to forestry research from around Europe, this issue also afforded the spotlight to a number of ForestPaths milestones from the past few months.
On the one hand, the project's leading role in the authoring of a new paper, a collaborative venture with fellow Horizon Europe initiative SUPERB, was presented. The publication zoomed in on how various forest management styles affect conditions surrounding flora and fauna communities.
Furthermore, a note was made on ForestPaths' showcase at the latest JRC-EEA LULUCF workshop in Ispra, Italy. This event represented an important opportunity for the project to present current results and consider future trajectories, fostering meaningful exchanges with decision-makers in conjunction with other relevant projects such as HoliSoils, PathFinder, ForestNavigator, NextGenCarbon and AVENGERS.
Last but not least, the newsletter singled out the second edition of the Forest Talks webinar series that ForestNavigator, ForestPaths and Pathfinder jointly organise. This time around, the topic in focus was the development of EU forest policy in light of present-day geopolitical shifts across the continent and beyond.
