ForestPaths’ presentation at the Living Planet Symposium featured in the EFIMED newsletter

The end of July saw the publication of the latest newsletter issue of the European Forest Institute’s Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED). As with previous editions, attention was afforded to various dimensions in forestry, including research outputs, governance developments and innovative solutions. More specifically, emphasis was placed on the topics of soil health, fire resilience and sustainable land management.

An important ForestPaths showcase was also singled out in the newsletter - the project’s involvement at the 2025 Living Planet Symposium. Considered to be among the most notable international conferences on Earth observation, the European Space Agency event took place in Vienna between 23 and 27 June. The list of experts presenting innovative solutions as part of the five-day agenda included ForestPaths partners from the Technical University of Munich and VITO Remote Sensing. They took to the stage to discuss the project-related efforts to develop and enhance technologies related to mapping forest structures and disturbances.
