A fellow Horizon Europe project in the domain of forest management, OptFor-EU brings together 16 organisations from 9 countries for a four-year endeavour. Its focus is increasing forest resilience for more effective climate mitigation via improved practices and ecosystem services provision.
As with previous editions, the initiative’s latest newsletter featured a section on associated projects, highlighting their progress. This time, ForestPaths has been brought to the foreground twice. On the one hand, the third issue in the ForestPaths Features series was in the spotlight for its contribution to understanding the impact of European climate policies on forests. On the other hand, the publication of the project’s new comprehensive forest disturbance map datasets and open-source tools (aiphoria and bw_timex) were also mentioned.
Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to OptFor-EU for their unwavering support for initiatives committed to improving the knowledge-sharing and management of the forestry sector in Europe and beyond.
