Join ForestPaths: Open job position at Lund University, Sweden

19 June 2023

Lund University's renowned Centre for Environmental and Climate Science (CEC) is looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join ForestPaths’ efforts in investigating how to balance biodiversity, climate, social values and the economy as affected by forest management and policy. The position focuses on

  • predicting the impact of alternative forestry practices on biodiversity and tracing these effects to underlying policy changes;

  • using existing data to develop robust models that can predict how management and policy options impact biodiversity in Swedish forests;

  • using statistical methods such as Joint Species Distribution Modelling and other types of hierarchical models to relate existing and new species datasets to spatially overlapping habitat and land cover data.

To qualify for this position, you would need a PhD, or an equivalent international degree, within the subject area, completed no more than three years prior to the employment decision. Documented skills in statistical analysis of complex ecological data are also highly valued, along with knowledge of forest ecology and/or conservation biology, scientific publishing and English proficiency.
