MoniFun, a fellow project financed via the EU’s Horizon Europe programme, has set out to establish a network of actors involved or interested in the forestry sector. This effort is complementary to the initiative’s core objective - crafting a blueprint for a comprehensive European Forest Multifunctionality Monitoring System (EFMMS). This framework is meant to ultimately help tackle the stress factors affecting Europe’s forests as a result of climate change.
Now, the consortium behind the project is reaching out to professionals involved in various capacities in forestry activities and institutions. A community exchanging best practices and insights is envisioned to emerge as a result of this enlistment. In that sense, those that choose to participate will be included in MoniFun’s stakeholder engagement initiatives, thus being regularly invited to participate in discussions on the inception of the EFMMS. The idea is to gather as many diverse perspectives as possible in the endeavour to ensure the system’s usefulness and applicability across Europe.
A “Get involved” page on the official MoniFun website has been created for interested parties to submit their contact details in a dedicated stakeholder survey.
